I am actually not excited about AI, uh, no, kidding.
With the way things have been evolving, it’s hard not to be excited about the tools that are being built around it, video generation, editing, agentic tooling (lots of), health, research, all with an AI-first approach. Built not by big companies but by indie hackers and a small team of people who are excited about their craft. And this part is what excites me most about AI.
If I look 3 years back, it was around the time when I first started using ChatGPT. It was cool but not useful. With the new update and releases, it has become more useful...
I use it all the time to brainstorm, to research and learn and now a heavy reliance on using it for code. And not just one model, three different LLMs running parallely in cursor worktrees while two different opencode sessions running in the background (i’m making this stuff up, my hardware doesn’t support it).
The things that I can do now and the things I know, I will be able to do in future if I spend some more time are insane! And all the things that I now see people sharing/building make me inspired and intimidated.
Creativity and idea is what matters now, because the friction to build and get it in reality is reduced...it still takes continuous effort to polish and scale, but initial friction doesn’t bother much.
How much of it is right and how much is wrong, and whether it’s sustainable or not, are controversial, and I like to keep an optimistic outlook on this one. Because with all the tooling around, every time I get into trouble, I know I can find a fix.
AI, to me, used to be Jarvis from the Iron Man movies. Taking care of everything like an assistant, answering queries, having access to all data, and being available all the time.
With all the updates happening and tools being developed, I am excited that one day I will not just be using Jarvis, but I can build my own Jarvis, with LLMs running locally on my consumer hardware, tasks automated with agents and workflows, and all the data stored locally.
A local, 24/7 running computer hosting an LLM that has only one job: to follow your instructions and assist you. (it won’t be fast, but it will be efficient.)
And for all the cool things possible now, it will be one of the coolest things that, for sure, would be doable!
